Abstract
This capping paper for my PhD by Publication elucidates my corpus of publications produced over a six-year period. The work builds on and further articulates my artist practice. I give an account of my work as filmmaker and outline the guiding principles that support my personal subjective exploration of British Chinese identity, using notions of displacement, deconstruction and performativity.I demonstrate how my filmic voice addresses questions of hybridity, postcolonialism and otherness. In so doing, I set out the dialogical relationship between theoretical underpinnings of the aforementioned terms and my own research practice.
