Research output: Other contribution

Abstract

This submission is in response to the inquiry of the Foreign Affairs Committee on European Responses to Irregular Migration. It addresses some of the points of the Inquiry’s terms of reference, focusing in particular on Italy-Libya cooperation on migration control, and on the UK’s cooperation with the EU and other Member States in an effort to address irregular migration in the Mediterranean. This submission’s final recommendation is for European States to suspend their support to Libyan authorities whose atrocious human rights violations against migrants and refugees are widely known and extensively reported.
