Abstract
An account of South African experimental documentarist Aryan Kaganof's film, "Night is Coming: Threnody for the victims of Marikana" which is both a record of an academic conference about sound and landscape, and a furious attack on the conference's failure to address the deaths of striking miners killed by police in the township of Marikana.
