What Can Event TV Tell us about the State of the Nation?

Research output: Other contributionBlog

Abstract

The blog examines the Coronation of King Charles III and Eurovision as Event Television and asks what it can tell us about how the nation is imagined. In both cases, it argues, the programmes emphasise the diversity of a nation that is deeply embedded in larger entities, namely the Commonwealth on the one hand and Europe on the other. However, how the diverse groups relate to each other is seen as significantly different.
