Abstract

Creating personalised learning for continuing medical education (CME) is a challenge since it requires an effective response to the unique learning needs and approaches to learning of each individual learner. Technology can create innovative opportunities for the development of learning networks that are specific for each learner. These networks can link a wide variety of learning resources, with different content and media presentation, to ensure that learners can make sense of the complexity of daily practice. The potential of learning networks will only be achieved if there is careful attention to the educational aspects of these networks, including the development of selfregulated learning skills, the development of new information and digital competencies, and the recognition of the importance of mentors.
