Abstract
This paper shares a series of remembered life episodes in relation to dance, identity and ageing. What I seek to reveal are pieces of a life through age(ing) and well-being (and sometimes not so well-being). I advocate how engagement with dance needs to be more nurtured and in many cases specialised as dancers grow old(er). This in turn focuses on the relationship between the performer and the performance and by doing so challenging the cultural understandings of performing longevity.
