Stereotyped Chinese Pidgin English as an interlude in linguistic sources: three early 20th century examples

    Abstract

    Presented here are a number of short examples of what appear to be Chinese Pidgin English appearing in unexpected places. An analysis of the texts shows that CPE is prone to sterotyping by even otherwise careful observers and analysts of language.
