    Abstract

    This is a paper presented by the the researchers of the project at the 41st Annual Meeting of the Societas Linguistica Europaea held at the University of Bologna at Forli, Italy (17-20 September 2008). This presentation introduces the lexical and grammatical patterning, the genre variation, and a tentative theoretical account for splittable compounds in Chinese.
