Abstract
An original composition applying techniques drawn from musique concrète within a popular electronic aesthetic. The piece recontextualises makeshift marimba recordings performed by buskers and captured in Park Güell, Barcelona in 2013, alongside other found sound samples/recordings including a bicycle drivetrain, broken pottery, and various types of chimes. These samples are triggered randomly by MIDI note on events in the main synthesiser pad patch as a means of lending texture to the piece.
