Abstract
The research aimed to analyse the experience of the Se-stante training programme.
It sought to understand the meaning of the project for the young participants involved.
Particular attention was given to adolescents subject to judicial measures and engaged in an intensive educational pathway.
The study explored how participants experienced the acquisition of technical skills and professional certifications in the nautical sector.
It also examined the perspectives of social workers, trainers and families who supported the young people throughout the process.
A key objective was to identify the main difficulties encountered by the different actors involved.
The research further investigated the personal resources that the young people discovered and mobilised during the programme.
It considered participants’ expectations, as well as the unexpected outcomes emerging from the experience.
Through a qualitative action-research approach, the study aimed to value local knowledge and professional expertise.
Overall, the research sought to assess whether Se-stante could promote personal development, social inclusion and future professional opportunities
