Abstract
The provocation examines television studies both as a subject that is embedded in sexist structures of higher education and as something that has benefitted from marginalisation of television as a result of its associations with the feminine. It aims to emphasise the problematic power structures that impact on our work, and our opportunities to re-dress some of the problems
