Abstract
Half a century ago, on April 3, 1960, the United Socialist Party (PSU) was born, and the last militants dissolved it thirty years later, on April 7, 1990. An ephemeral and heterogeneous party structure, traversed by complex and fragmented tendencies, the PSU has participated in the profound renewal of the left, both ideologically and in the entrenchment of its militant networks. This pivotal party has oscillated between the extreme left and the left of government, mixing a thousand members of the party.
