Abstract
With bio-pics imagining Jane Austen's life and adaptations of her famous novels, Austen has become a point of fascination for both academic and non-academic audiences. As such there is a cultural divide between 'Jane' and 'Austen'. 'Jane' is the friend of the reader who we want to be loved like her characters and receive credit for her work as she does today. 'Austen' is the author of works of enduring academic interest, and this poster explore the differences and why it occurs.
