    Abstract

A fun, interactive workshop providing a tool-box of Applied Theatre techniques and drama games/exercises that can be used as a springboard into more traditional writing exercises. The techniques, drawn from a wide range of theatre practice, have been adapted by playwright Billy Cowan, and are perfect for engaging young people who may be resistant to writing. The exercises are designed to create the right kind of environment to enable imagination and storytelling skills to flourish, without pen and paper, so the young people start the writing process without being aware of it.
