Abstract

This chapter provides the editors’ introduction to the book and is divided into three parts. The first part outlines the aims of the book and its intended readership. The second part describes the three key sub-sections around which the chapters are organised (i.e., The political, organisational, and administrative landscape of community sport coaching, Enacting sport and physical activity interventions for diverse groups, and Negotiating social relationships in community sport coaching work). It also provides a brief summary of each chapter’s content. The final part considers the various ways in which the book may be used, inclusive of how educators might employ the end-of-chapter tasks to facilitate learning in and about community sport coaching.
