Abstract

The report provides the findings of a High Level Group on Sports Diplomacy which was appointed by European Commissioner and met during 2015/16. The group identified how sport can play a more significant role in helping the EU reach its external policy goals as well as how sport could be a tool to promote European values. Under the chairmanship of Pál Schmitt this report was prepared by the co-rapporteurs, Valérie Fourneyron and Thierry Zintz, and submitted to the European Commission in June 2016.
