Abstract

This chapter critically reviews the interdisciplinary literatures on healthcare electronic continuing professional development (eCPD). The review distilled 5 key design features of eCPD most likely to improve impact on practice and patient care. The review emphasises the need for educators to design flexible structures that strategically align pedagogies, social networks and learning technologies, to deliver context-specific programmes that produce change in practice, and affect the empowerment of practitioners.
