    Abstract

This work was commissioned by artist Russel Kirk, Chester, and consisted of a series of stories adapted from legends of the landscapes of Chester and especially the area around the site of the former Abbey, and the old well in Grosvenor Park. Operating as a series of interlinked stories, the work was designed for one performer to present in outdoor settings at the sites featuring in the stories. Performed by actorm Keddy Sutton, the work was interactive and comedic in nature. The aim was to make audiences aware of the histories and narrative palimpsests in the landscapes of an urban park before they are lost from current memory.
