Abstract
Within Greater Manchester a new model of undergraduate student nurse supervision and assessment in clinical practice has been implemented within predominantly adult and children and young people fields of practice. The Greater Manchester (GM) Synergy Model applies coaching methodologies with emphasis placed on student nurse’s clinical leadership development and peer learning whilst at the same time potentially increasing practice learning placement capacity. Health Education England have commissioned a project with deliverables and outputs. This presentation reports on key project areas that influence how Greater Manchester HEIs and its partner healthcare organisations will implement the new Nursing and Midwifery Council Standards for student supervision and assessment, taking into account coaching methodologies.
