False Recall in Collaborative Groups

Abstract

Collaborative pairs, trios and quartets were presented with lists of associated words known to induce false recall. Groups were exposed to either high or low social pressure to output items. False recall increased with group size. The high pressure groups falsely recalled more non-presented words than nominal equivalents.
