    Abstract

    At Liverpool Women’s Hospital neonatal unit, equipment competency checklists have been introduced to ensure the appropriate level of training for items of equipment used by different staff groups. Senior house officers (SHOs) learn some of these competencies at induction and the others by actively seeking out the appropriate training from senior staff during the first weeks of their post.
