Abstract
The editorial presents six original articles exploring key issues facing emergency services globally, covering three continents. These six articles address important topics within the emergency services domain notably: interoperability between the services, disaster preparedness, impact of the pandemic lockdowns on forest fires, barriers to firefighter response to wild land fires and the role of effective management communication in alleviating conflict stress among first responders.
