Research output: Non-textual formExhibition

Abstract

Nineteenth-century medical science produced new life-saving surgical instruments and painkillers, but also inspired monsters like Victor Frankenstein and Mr Hyde. This exhibition at the Atkinson museum and gallery in Southport invited children and families to explore a Victorian doctor’s study, experience the wonder and fear of nineteenth-century medicine, and consider the connections between medical developments and literary culture.
