o Brief description of the contribution:
The knowledge and understanding of emergency medical care providers in relation to Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) orders is not well known. The dilemma that emergency medical care providers in the South African context experience is related to the ethical, legal and moral consideration of these DNR orders when dealing with patient presenting in end-of-life situations. This study highlighted the need for guideline development and improved service policies to guide practitioners when dealing with DNR orders within the pre-hospital setting.
