    Abstract

Creative Animation Knowledge Exchange (C.A.K.E) was a week long Sino/UK animation event that took place at Edge Hill University. C.A.K.E took the form of a five-day festival and conference where the central aim was to discuss creativity within animation, to examine what it means to be creative in animation, how various understandings of creativity are shaping the industry, the tools we use to create animation, and how cultural collaborations between UK and China might lead to new forms of creativity, new practice, new opportunities for enterprise and research.
