    Abstract

Following the devastating result of the May 2015 general election, the Institute organised ‘Compassion is dissent: Manifesto Slam’ the following month. It put out an open call for participants asking that, to get in, the participants would have to bring a 3 minute manifesto. Here, the Institute showcases 3 manifestos and include the manifesto commissioned by the Live Art Development Agency for Through the Looking Glass, St Helens, 2015. This is to remind us that in the current precarious, neoliberalised milieu compassion is a form of dissent, something that gives hope in this awful, neoliberal regime.
