    Abstract

Those who care, aren’t the ones who stay. Outside of parents, there is no-one more strategically placed to look after the wellbeing of our young people than teachers. However, what happens when the school system gets in the way of teachers caring for our young people as well as they can? Many schools have in place anti-bullying policies and procedures to protect young people from bullying which causes much mental health problems amongst the young, but do the schools have time to implement these procedures effectively and what happens when the people responsible for drawing up these procedures have personal beliefs that conflict with the policies they have to draw up?
