Abstract

Set against the backdrop of the 1929 National Eisteddfod in Liverpool, when the foundations for the resurgence of Welsh National Identity were being laid, Cartref calls its audience to witness a closed immigrant community in mourning as a middle-aged Welsh woman prepares a funeral tea in her chapel in accordance with the traditions of her community.
