    Abstract

Absolutely Nothing combines improvisational and algorithmic approaches to musical composition. Created entirely in SuperCollider, the sounds used in this piece attempt to create a contrast between concrete, organic and synthetic textures. Dynamic percussive and noise based sounds are contrasted with clearly tonal content vacillating between the melancholic and optimistic. The piece draws upon a range of sounds and textures common to both avant-garde and exploratory forms of popular electronic music.
