Abstract
On 21 December 2023, the Court of Justice delivered three judgements of considerable significance for the future of the so-called “European Model of Sport”. This model is often depicted as resembling a pyramid and is constructed through the drafting, application, and enforcement of a number of sporting rules considered essential for its preservation. This chapter examines the impact of these judgements on four such rules relating to: prior authorisation, solidarity, nationality, and arbitration.
