Abstract
A contemporary idea of health is analysed in the biopsychosocial paradigm perspective. Under this paradigm, the greater responsibility for one's health is conferred onto the agent. Building on the results of empirical research, the authors consider the problems of development of a conscious attitude to one's health as well as subjective factors influencing this attitude. Perspectives of salutogenic model are discussed.
