J Waring KTP project on Database modelling & AI

This is a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project based on database modelling, optimisation and AI. This project uses artificial intelligence to learn from years of past building quotes — including details like material costs, the shape and slope of the land, and how weather might affect the build. By combining this historic knowledge, the system can automatically generate accurate new quotes for construction projects. This saves time for staff, reduces human error, and ensures clients receive faster, more consistent, and cost-effective estimates.

The project led by Edge Hill University (c/o Nonso Nnamoko, Marcello Trovati & Umar Khan) in collaboration with J Waring - Experts in steel framed buildings for the commercial, industrial and agricultural sectors has been awarded £265,790 by Innovate UK.
