Project Details
Description
This systematic literature review aims to investigate the effects of Electroencephalogram (EEG) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) biofeedback interventions on anxiety and stress responses in adults. The review focuses on synthesising evidence as to the potential effects of these biofeedback methods both as individual interventions and potentially as simultaneous interventions. This review seeks to clarify the potential effectiveness of the methods and provide rationale for the investigation of their simultaneous use in further research.
Layman's description
This project will look at conducting a systematic review of the literature surrounding the use of two forms of biofeedback as interventions for anxiety and stress. Reviewing the literature will improve understandings of the theory and methods used in previous research and can provide rationale for methods used in future research in this field of study. The main goal is to establish if biofeedback has any significant effects on anxiety and stress levels, and to investigate how these relate to task performance and general wellbeing.
