A Policy Archaeology of English Primary Music Education
A critical examination of the discursive constitution of music education policy in the UK, and an investigation of those who enact music education policy, into their views of perceived policy problems and identified policy solutions.
That contemporary UK music education policy is shaped by both neo-liberal and neo-conservative discourses, which are informed by a wider policy ensemble and which shape what become perceived as the problems of music education and, consequently, as appropriate and available solutions.
