Arts for the Blues: Creating Connections

Project Details

Description

Arts for the Blues: Creating Connections will be an immersive performance co-produced by artists and mental health service users that will highlight the
healing potential of creativity and offer opportunities for human connection.

We ask for £29,954 to involve 6 artists, 2 arts facilitators and 8 mental health
service users in co-designing an immersive performance of their shared
experience of attending a creative group that is cognisant of their creativity and
mental health. Using creative technologies, the project will involve at least 50
student volunteers and reach over 1300 people (live and online). It will
encourage audiences to interact with the material presented and performed,
generating new material that is incorporated into an evolving piece that will
make references to their creative group journey, raise awareness of the healing
potential of creativity and create diverse opportunities for human connection.
