Previous research suggests that people with aphantasia may have a higher prevalence of mental health conditions and neurodivergence compared to the general population, but aphantasia presents a special challenge for diagnosis and treatment. This study will examine the experiences of those with aphantasia of mental health support services.
Internal visual imagery is often used as a way of diagnosing and/or treating some mental health conditions, however different people have different internal mental imagery including some who have very little or none. We are hypothesizing that this difference will impact how people may interact with mental health support.
