Project Details
Description
This research seeks to investigate the potential for AI video recognition software to improve the efficiency and accuracy of time-lapse data analysis of cultural interventions in public space and festivalised environments.
Layman's description
In this RIF funded research I use existing AI platforms to analyse large datasets of video footage taken at outdoor arts festivals and focusing on audience behaviours such as proximity and stay-length as well as making counts of audience engagements with performances. This research fills a knowledge gap in the industry and arts funding ecology and has significance for informing policy and how outdoor performances are planned and created.
