Description
Hyperkinetic Movement Disorders (HMD) are disorders that cause uncontrolled movements, including dystonia. These conditions can have a significant impact on individuals’ lives and participation in daily activities. There is limited research in this area and a serious lack of standardisation of outcome measures used. Aim: The aim of this scoping review is to identify the current interventions and outcomes reported in the published evidence for childhood-onset hyperkinetic movement disorders, including dystonia, and map them to the ICF framework. Methods: This systematic scoping review is guided by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysesextension for scoping review (PRISMA-ScR). Medline, CINAHL plus, EMBASE and Ovid will be searched to identify published literature. Titles and abstracts will be checked by two independent reviewers and data will be extracted and mapped to the ICFframework
