Poetic inquiry is used as a method and as a methodology to facilitate a critical authenticity. The project works with teachers and examines the concept of teacher authenticity. It proposes the use of the term 'critical authenticity' instead to relate to the on-going narrative construction of the self that might be taking place in teachers' identity construction.
