Umar Khan is a senior lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Edge Hill University since Spetember 2021.
Prior to joining Edge Hill, Umar worked at Heriot-Watt University as an Assistant Professor in Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering department and as lecturer in electrical and electronic engineering at Robert Gordon University. His research is focused on partial discharge, condition monitoring, sensors and instrumentation, hyperspectral imaging, spectroscopy and robotics. Umar has been actively involved in research and with industrial partners on various projects to provide long term solutions to engineering problems in the field of sensors, instrumentations, localization and condition monitoring. He is a fellow of Higher Education Academy, a member of IET and a member IEEE.
