Biography
Having completed a PGCE in Primary Education in 2003, Suzanne worked in a variety of Primary Schools working as a class teacher and PSHE subject lead. In 2008, Suzanne moved to Jersey and led a school initative in supporting children with their mental health and wellbeing, during this time she led staff development sessions for teachers and schools and worked with external agencies to implement a Social and Emotional Skills Programme for parents and children.
Suzanne has worked in ITE since 2015 and completed her MSc in Child & Adolescent Mental Health and Wellbeing in 2022. Her research interests involve exploring how academic and professional practice resilience impacts a trainee teachers wellbeing. Suzanne is currently studying for her Level 4 in Counselling and Psycotherapy.
Teaching
Suzanne has taught across a range of programmes in both Primary and Early Years Education. She led PSHE on both the Primary Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes and currently leads on the Early Years Wellbeing Module. Suzanne works collaboratively with healthcare professionals and outside agencies to develop best practice in supporting mental health and wellbeing across QTS programmes.
