Personal profile

Biography

After obtaining her undergraduate BA (Hons) in Sports Studies and completing the PGCE in Secondary Physical Education at Edge Hill University, Sarah taught Physical Education at St Mary’s Catholic High School in Tyldesley for several years. Sarah returned to Edge Hill to take up a lecturing post on the Physical Education and School Sport Degree in September 2007. Sarah has since obtained a MA Education and PG Cert in Teaching and Learning Support in HE. Sarah is currently undertaking a PhD at Leeds Beckett University.

Research interests

Sarah’s research examines the discursive regimes that underpin adult-child physical interactions within school Physical Education, analysing the place and impact of touch within physical educators’ pedagogical practice.

Teaching

Sarah is Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for the BA(Hons) Physical Education and School Sport.
