    Biography

    Sarah Crosby is a Senior Lecturer in Nures Education. Upon completion of her nurse training she took up a post as a newly qualified staff nurse at a large acute paediatric trust in the North West of England. Before moving over to nurse education, Sarah worked as a ward sister on a paediatric surgical ward. She spent a number of years seconded to Edge Hill University supporting the delivery of clinical skills and simulation.

    Teaching

    Sarah's first experience in academia was during a 3 year secondment to Edge Hill where she supported the development and delivery of clinical skills and simulation. She has worked permanently as a lecturer at Edge Hill University since 2013. 

    Sarah has experience in curriculum development and has recently led in the development of the PGDIP Second Registration Nursing programme at Edge Hill University.

    Sarah is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

    Research interests

    Sarah's research interest is focussed on Simulation Based Learning and Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL). She has just acquired a Solstice Fellowship to further this interest and identify how TEL can be utilised to enhance the preparation for, and delivery of Simulation Based Learning. 

    Additional research interests include knowledge retention and acquisition of psychomotor skills, with a particular focus on Basic Life Support.
