Biography

Pui Sze Cheung is an IACAT and HCPC registered music therapist and health researcher with extensive experience in arts and health. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, an MA in Music Therapy, and a PhD focuses on music therapy and perinatal mental health. In collaboration with the Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service at University Maternity Hospital Limerick, HSE, Pui Sze pioneered Ireland’s first music-based intervention for perinatal mental health, funded by Healthy Ireland and the Department of Health in Ireland. She currently serves as the Health-based Creative Health Associate at NHS Mersey Care for the Arts4Us project at the Research Centre for Arts and Wellbeing, working together to scale up place-based arts initiatives that support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people aged 9-13.
