Biography


Professor Paresh Wankhade
 is an internationally known expert in the field of emergency services management.  He is the Programme leader for the UK’s first bespoke Professional Doctorate in Emergency Services Management . He is the Editor-In-Chief of International Journal of Emergency Services. He has published widely in top academic journals and professional publications on strategic leadership, organisational culture, organisational change and interoperability between the emergency services. He regularly speaks at related events and through his opinion pieces.

He works closely with blue light professionals for co-production of knowledge by exploring leadership and management perspectives in the  Emergency Services, and specifically in the Ambulance , Police  and Fire & Rescue Services. He is also a Trustee at the Fire Service Research & Training Trust.  He is a Fellow at the Institute of Civil Protection and Emergency Management and chairs the SIG on Blue Light Services.  Most recently, he has been elected as a Fellow of the prestigious Academy of Social Sciences

His latest book on Emergency Services Management highlights the research gap and professionalisation journeys of the ambulance, fire & rescue and police services.

Paresh is currently supervising five Prof. doc & PhD candidates and is keen to hear from individuals who are interested in reading for a PhD in leadership and management of public services or related themes.

  • Amber Review (2018)- A Review of Calls to the Welsh Ambulance Service Categorised as Amber- Adviser and Lead Reviewer – I was invited to join the Expert Reference group to the Review team for my internationally recognised expertise in ambulance performance management challenges.
