Biography

Following a long career in education and children's social care in the Republic of Ireland and England, I qualified in social work in 2001, and since then I have worked as a registered children's home manager and children's rights and advocacy services manager in England. I moved into social work eduction in 2007 and have completed research on the newly qualified social workers' perceptions of the ASYE programme (2013) and indicators if the effectiveness of Independent Reviewing Officers (2019), and am currently working on joint research projects on the potential of parent and connected carer particiaption groups in statutory social work and the PVI care provider perceptions of the value of the named social worker model in adult support.
