    Biography

    I worked for 15 years as a software developer before retraining and teaching Computer Science in the secondary sector. I now work in teacher education at Edge Hill University. I am also a part-time PhD student in the School of Computing Science (Centre for Computing Science Education) at the University of Glasgow. My PhD focuses on the extent to which the epistemic practices of computing can support teacher education.

    Teaching

    I teach on the following courses and modules: 

    • PGCE Secondary Computer Science and Information Technology
    • MA Education module PRL4049: Brain, Mind and Knowledge: exploring key concepts in the cognitive sciences

    External engagement

    I facilitate the Reading the ITE Evidence Base reading group. The aim of the reading group is to bring those interested in teacher education together to discuss and critically engage with relevant literature. 

    I am also involved in meetups for Computer Science Education research students (#CSEdRStudents) and Computing teacher educators (#ComputingTen).
