    Personal profile

    Biography

I am a senior lecturer in GIS and Remote Sensing. I use Earth Observation technologies such as satellite imagery to monitor the surface of our planet. My particular interests lie within the coastal regions of the tropics, particularly mangroves and other blue carbon ecosystems. I am interested in the extent, change, structure and function of these important forested ecosystems. My research encompasses the broader coastal zone and includes develoment of spaceborne bathymetric models. I also have wider interests in mapping the structure of terrestrial forests and agriculture/food security.
