I am a 3rd year PhD student at Edge Hill University based in the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine. My background is secondary school teaching where I taught Food and Nutrition related subjects at GCSE and level 3. I was also a departmental head where I overran the delivery, marking and planning of all food and nutrition related courses. After leaving teaching I did my Masters in Public Health Nutrition then worked as a researcher for Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Leeds. These positions led to the publication of 2 systematic review papers which were: The oxidative stability of omega-3 oil in water nanoemulsion systems suitable for functional food enrichment (LJMU) and Identifying validated dietary assessment tools, (UoL). I have presented at the Nutrition Society annual conferences on 2 occasions and introduced and presented at the launch of the Nutritools website (a website that hosts a range of dietary assessmen tools for health professionals) at the University of Leeds.
