Biography
Before commencing my first degree in Drama and Psychology I worked in Community Theatre. After completing my postgraduate diploma in dramatherapy in 1992 I worked in mental health charities and Adult Education with Adults with learning disabilities in London and then with a touring theratre company in Hertfordshire. When working in a mental health charity in Manchester I then completed my Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy. Following this I went to work in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services as a specialist therapist for 15 years where I completed my postgraduate diploma in CBT and postgraduate certificae in Clinical Supervision. I then worked for 3 years in Adult Psychological Therapies (IAPT) before starting at Edge HIll University in 2020. My research interests are in Dramatherapy and arts for wellbeing in charitable sector. I lead the MSc in Psychotherapy and Counselling Contemporary Creative Approaches Programme at Edge Hill University.
